OBJECTIVE EXAMPLE FOUR
Module Four- Efficient Service
Learner will display their ability to notate a claim professionally as shown by selecting and revising 3 claims that are not professionally notated and posting them on Padlet for others to critique according to a mastery score of no more than one error on each claim.
Assessment Activity
This assessment nugget involves the learner researching current customer claims with notations. Learner select three notations they have judged to not meet the professional notation standard, re-write the notations, and post those notations on Padlet. In the title the user places his or her name and in the text area the notation. Each learner then provides feedback on that notation using elements of the quality rubric to support their evaluation.
Bloom's Taxonomy Connection
This learning objective falls at the Analysis stage of Bloom's Taxonomy as it deals breaking apart ideas into smaller parts and finding evidence to support a generalization. In this assessment activity, the learner must first look at the individual parts of the notation to determine if it fits the 'professional' notation definition and then revise the notation to fit the definition. This requires the learner to find evidence to justify their choices and changes to notations. This process continues again in the critique stage where the learners assess each other's posted notation. Each must write the justification of whether the notation fits the 'professional' definition or not.
Learning Activities
Self-Checking Guidance Kernel - If the learner struggles on attaining a mastery score for the assessment nugget, they will be directed to self-checking learning activities to help develop needed skills. For this module, the guidance activities will help the learner be able to professionally summarize a customer claim.
Kernel 1- This activity isolates the essential expectations needed for a professional notation. The learner will view a micro-video to hear and see what to include, along with a series of practice activities to build confidence and skills in notations. There will be a focus on eliminating run-on sentences, improper punctuation, wordy notations, and incomplete summaries.
Kernel 2- This activity focuses on tips and tricks to complete the notation faster. Again the learner will have the option of viewing a 'Tips and Tricks' Micro-video to have a more formalized review of what is needed. The learner will also have the opportunity to work on their efficiency in notating the claim through some timed notation practice exercises This will allow the learner to practice the various tips and tricks learned in this kernel.

About Padlet
Padlet is an internet application, that was previously called Wall Wisher. The company boasts that Padlet is a "multimedia friendly, free-form, real-time wiki. This application allows a user or a community of users to place content, such as images, videos, documents, and text, anywhere on a page. The creator has control over the look of the final Padlet page through different wallpaper and customization features. Plus, the application works on all modern and mobile browsers (Chrome, Safari 5.0 or above, Firefox 5.0 or above, IE 8.0
or above, Mobile Safari (IOS 6 and above), Mobile chrome or android jelly bean
(4.1 and above, Chrome on Android/IOS, Mobile Safari, Mobile Opera, ect.) which makes it a functional tool.
One review mentioned that Padlet works in both education and workplace settings. Teachers can create Padlet boards to collaborate between instructor student or student-student. It can be used to brainstorm ideas, discuss topics, display learning artifacts, plan events, share feedback, make lists, watch and share videos, and the ideas are only limited by creativity. Even companies are using Padlet to engage with their public consumers.
The following are some examples of Padlet in use:

Use the Padlet I created below to try it out. Simply double click anywhere in the blue and add your ideas to the topic or drag a file to the board to include. Practice uploading images or videos or whatever you wish to do. Try it out and have fun!
Strengths of the Tool
I can see a few strengths of this tool for my project. First, since Padlet allows multiple users to modify and create on a page, it is a great collaborative tool for my learners. It is much quicker to create a Padlet page than even a Weebly or Wiki page to collaborate and add ideas. Another plus to the tool is that it can be set up to indicate who can and cannot modify the Padlet page which is great so only those within a training course could modify the page to help with assessing learner growth. On the flip side, a Padlet could be an accumulation of knowledge from all learners who ever took that training course or it could be a company page to share information on a topic quickly and easily. That is a feature that needs some more exploring on how to present and use, but it is something to think about. Another strength of the tool is that it includes privacy settings which would be useful for confidential and proprietary information for company training activities. One final strength I can see is that it is easy to embed or share the Padlet page so this means it allows me to place it in a webpage or blog page or any rapid eLearning tool that allows the embedding of html.
Challenges of the Tool
The biggest thing I can see as a draw back is the potential for the school or company to block the domain. It would be important to work with the IT department to allow both the Wallwisher and Padlet domains as allowable. Another potential challenge is organizing the page when there are multiple users and multiple pieces of information flowing onto it. It has the potential to get cluttered and hard to read given the free-form of the page. The best work around as a trainer would be to create the discussions to specific topics and use multiple pages instead to prevent an overloaded page.
Plagiarism Prevention
Given the nature of this assessment activity that requires the learner to select notations from hundreds of claim notations, I would not expect any learner to have selected the same notation. Further, each notation revision will be unique that the learner creates as it is tied back to the selected notation. When the activity moves to more of an authentic assessment it lessens the likelihood that learners will be using others work as their own. Unless training success becomes tied to a job appraisal or additional compensation, I do not see plagiarism as much a concern as I would see in education with the grading structure. In our workplace training environment, it is simply about taking the skill to the next level and our learners all have varying degrees in their advanced skill level.
Diversified Learning Style
This activity really plays to multiple learning styles. For those learners that like to do their work alone, it gives them that ability. However, this is balanced with the inclusion of a group discussion and critique of professional notations. Learning from others and sharing expertise and knowledge is essential with adult learners, especially since all of the adult learners have been in their job position longer than the trainer. One final way this activity addresses diversified learning is through the authentic nature of using the system tools to select and evaluate the notations to select for the activity. It places the learner right into the workplace tools needed for their position. Overall, I do think the tools positives outweigh the negatives.
